The Science Village community launches — and The Loop was the place for it

On June 10th, The Loop hosted the official launch of the Science Village community — bringing together the organisations and people who are building something genuinely new in the northeast corner of Lund.

Vectura, Science Village, Wihlborgs Fastigheter, European Spallation Source ERIC (ESS), MAX IV, Lunds Tekniska Högskola, NanoLund, Lunds kommun, Camurus, LINXS, Big Science Sweden, Ideon Science Park; Catator, Saab and more gathered to mark the start of a new phase: turning a vision into a living, working community. One where companies, researchers, students, property owners, and public institutions are not just neighbours, but collaborators.

"We have the ingredients needed for a successful innovation district. The Loop is open for everyone. We complement MAX IV and ESS, creating spaces for innovation. My goal: the next Nobel Prize started with a conversation in The Loop."

– Daniel Fex, Director of Business Development, Vectura Fastigheter

The session brought an honest look at where things stand, what is coming next, and how members of the ecosystem can shape its direction. Because the long-term strength of Science Village depends on the people who choose to show up — from early-stage startups to the world's largest research infrastructures.

After the launch, Vectura kept things going with a summer BBQ in the park — DJs, sunshine, burgers, and the kind of spontaneous conversations that community is actually made of.

Our mission at Vectura, "Re-imagining real estate — spaces for innovation," is built on a belief that the value of a building lies less in its walls and more in what happens between people inside them. Developing The Loop as an open, cross-sector meeting place in the heart of Science Village is a direct expression of that: creating the conditions for research, business, and academia to collide, and trusting that good things follow.
